 Professionals and skilled trades employees need to pass a North Carolina state exam to obtain an initial license, and to maintain their license they must attend courses that earn renewal credits.

Western Piedmont Community College regularly offers courses for individuals to prepare for these exams as well as to keep their certification or license current.
